Alternator/Battery indicator light stays on (but dim)

I have something strange happening with my '04 Vibe- approx 72,000 miles on the car. The alternator/battery indicator light on the dash stays dimly lit during normal daytime and nighttime driving, but the dash indicator light turns off when I'm idling at a stoplight. Rev the engine and the light goes back on. The battery is newer, with clean connections. The serpentine belt is tight. Anyone else have this issue?
