As I went out for a walk today, I noticed my Vibe's interior lights were on!Car was locked and no door were open. The lights stayed on even after I got into the car and made all the doors were closed...( the lights should have been off after about 10 seconds )This never happened before. The light switch was in the "normal" position ( the blank bar , below ON ) and the lights only went off when I turn the switch to OFF, and stayed on with every other positions.So I played around the light switches a bit more, turned on/off headlights, fogs and everything was fixed!Now I am a little worried that this will happen again and drain the battery.Has this happened to you ?

Either the switch was not fully in the off position, or a door was ajar.

It's definitely not the latter.Because all 4 other doors have not been opened for about a week now. I live alone and drive alone, driver door is all I use.I truely hope it's just a sensitive positioning.

Always gotta check that hatch...seems like it's closed, when it's really not...

Retrospectively, it would not have been a door issue. A door being ajar would've kept the lights on, but the ARP would have turned them off eventually. It most likely was that switch.

Have you checked at what position the dask light dimmer was?

I think there was some talk of this problem before. It was an issue with a switch. People reported coming out of their house in the morning and their interior would be on and in some cases to a dead battery. They were fixed by the dealer.

If my memory is ok, the trouble was not with the interior lighting, but with the DRL system in cold weater. The head light turned on and drained the battery.

The light switch was in the "normal" position ( the blank bar , below ON ) ie. 3rd position from the top.The lights only went off when I turn the switch to OFF position, and stayed on with every other positions on the dial.I highly doubt any door was open or ajar, because the driver side door was the only door that had been opened in the last week or so and this problem only happened yesterday for the first time.

If a door was ajar there would be a red door ajar light in the instrument clustrer.BTW, how can a door be ajar? A door is a door. A jar is a jar.

That's what I thought, there was no door-open indicator.If there were, I wouldn't have been able to lock my doors, right ? Meaning of "ajar" :http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=ajar

Hence the reason I said it most likely was that switch improperly placed, or something somewhere in the line that malfunctioned.
