Recognizing the species...

Yes, i'm one that tries to keep the titles "unique"...if not confusing.Anyway... I'm currently visiting my fiancee in Georgia.. she and her parents have commented that before I got one, they didn't even know the Vibe existed! Somehow i'm not surprised...I sadly haven't seen an ad for one in almost a year.. Anyway..I was driving along Interstate 20 today, and as I drove, I looked at the car about 1000 feet in front of me.. (I think..I'm terrible at distance), and i'm like.. "Hey, that back end looks familiar..." In front of me was an abyss Vibe GT! So, being in sixth gear, I decide to downshift..speed up..and pull up next to this person. I look over and smile at the girl driving and give her a thumbs up. Both her and my fiancee laugh. I have to wonder if she ever thought the same thing. "Man, where're all the vibes around here!"I am, however, dissapointed to say that the experience today was only the 2nd Vibe I've seen on the trip, and I took 95 down from Jersey! A hellish 15 hour drive...Anyway, I just wanted to say that the Vibe back end is certainly easily recognizable...especially because of those backup lights!

Those backup lights are a fetish of mine! I LOVE the style, I have them on my Sunfire...

Betcha they knew that Toyota Matrix existed... Our Vibes are rather under-rated IMO, but that's kind of why I like it as I am all about getting a good car that not everyone and their dogs have.ie. Civics.

My mom gave me a lineup of cars to look at...she knew I wanted the Vibe, so she put it against a Jetta, an Element, and a Civic. I nearly gagged... Yeah mom, go from a Ford Probe to a Civic? Umno.Granted, civics are great cars for "normal" people...but if I ever want to be talked to again by my friends...again...umno.

That would have made me gag for sure. And like you said, the Civic is too common. Glad to see that you stuck to your guns and got a Vibe.

Vibes are all over the place in Michigan... I've pretty much given up on waving to them all. However, I did meet a few ladies in a parking lot when I pulled my vibe up a few spots down from theirs.

I just got my Vibe GT (abyss two-tone, moons/tunes, power, 6-speed) a couple of weeks ago - and I love it. Before I made the purchase, I would see one on the road every once in a while. Then, after my purchase, I guy in the same garage I park in got the same exact one! FYI - I know what you mean - that drive from Jersey down south is loooooong! Did you at least go past the BMW plant?

You would have had to gotten off of 95 and onto 81 (I think) to pass the BMW plant in South Carolina. You couldn't have missed it, as there are signs all over the road for it.
