Does anyone else get a rattling noise when they accelerate with the Magnaflow Cat Back on a 2003 Vibe GT? It doesn't do it when I accelerate hard or in lift, just when I'm cruising

I'm gonna go ahead and assume it shouldn't rattle and that somewhere the exhaust is sitting super close to something it rattles off of - just enough so it doesn't do it all the time. Now, I had this issue after replacing my Supra's exhaust once. It was a custom cat back. I eventually had to adjust one of the hangars thus pulling my exhaust to the left a hair. You'll have to safely elevate your vehicle w/it running and check it out yourself - unless you live near me in Ohio. Or, take it to a shop with a lift if your worried about doing it yourself. More than likely, a cheap fix on your own though. I would at least try crawling under there yourself and moving the exhaust around a bit to see what you find.

I had a Magnaflow catback exhaust installed on my 2009 Vibe GT a few months ago. After a couple weeks, it developed a rattle. It would only rattle sometimes when I was idling at a stop sign for example, so I took it back to my exhaust guy so he could check it out. He put it up on the lift and sure enough, there was a hanger that was hitting against the underside of the vehicle. He heated it up and bent it slightly so it wouldn't hit anymore. A simple 5 minute fix. I'm sure it's something similar with yours. As already suggested, take a look at it yourself or if you had someone install it for you, take it back and have them check it out. Nothing major to worry about

I installed the Magnaflow cat-back on mine a few weeks ago, and after two weeks I had the same problem of rattling. After some close inspection, I found that the rear band clamp that held the two sections together wasn't holding tight enough. This caused the front section of the exhaust to hang lower and rattle against the dog-bone-shaped support, a few feet back from where you attach the new pipes. I took the original clamp off, scooted the pipes back together and used a traditional 2 1/4 inch exhaust clamp to really tighten it down. I haven't had the issue since then.

My Magnaflow muffler had a core come loose internally within 24 hours of having it installed.

How did you determine that it was that?

It was obvious that it had an internal failure, and there's only really one thing that can happen on these turbo-style mufflers.
However, it seems that the cat-back uses a different part muffler that's free of this defect, although it is still a turbo-style muffler.
