Deepest Head Unit that Will Fit

I'm thinking of the Nakamichi 6-Disc in-dash changer and want to make sure it will fit. I'm pretty sure there is at least 6-3/4 of clearance but this unit is 6-15/16 deep. So, anybody know how much clearance there is in the Matrix/Vibe for a head unit?BTW, I'm doing this because I love having 6 discs in the dash but I need a Aux input that works so I can plug my iPod in...If you're interested, here's a link to the unit I am looking at:http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/caraudio ... ?sku=11683

I took a look on the Pioneer web site and I trace the few differences between the 8400 and the 8500According to the info, the 8400 has a DVD control and not the 8500.The 8400 has 14 graphic annimation, and the 8500 has 10Pre-out on 8400 are 2v, on 8500 they are 4vAll other feature are the same. So, for the use I do with mine, having a 8400 or a 8500 won't change many things

Do you have the same problem as me , when the face is open exposing the screen i cant see the damn thing in the light. I may make a fiberglass lip on my Dash Kit to block some sunlight

Yep, I have the same issue. The fact that the HU is inclined does not help. And when it is very sunny, the bottom face reflect the light right into my face. Sometimes it is so bothering, I have to close it. But this is the only problem I have with it.Before purchasing this one, I though about a Panasonic CQ-DFX983U. But the "unreadable" effect is even more present with this model.

lol i just had that problem when i went to lunch, the light was reflecting right into my eyes. Cant complain about the 8500 though, i got it on my discount and it has the 4V preouts, which'll be nice once i get my amps in. I gotta go snag another remote from work though, a friend of mine spilled soda on it and fried the thing! I belive i have one in my toolbox from a guy that left his when we were done with his install
