Hello, I'm new to the Vibe and this forum!

Just purchased an '04 base satelite/graphite Vibe with manual transmission, power package, and alloy wheels (as basic as I could find). Other colors were hard to find or had too much extra stuff for me.The deal was tough to pass up: invoice price (+$200) - $1000 (GM rebate) - $500 (non-GM owner rebate) - $2003 (GM card earnings plus bonus) = under $14k. I also had a 3M tint, cargo net, and bumper protector thrown in. My only 'mod' is a hitch I found for $80 + $15 shipping at http://www.drawtite-hitches.comMy other car (same color combo) is an '02 S2000 that doesn't have quite the same utility as the Vibe, but easily justified the lack of a sunroof.

Actually, the last few days have been rainy, 80's and low 90's. Regardless, the tint was installed yesterday and it makes a huge difference. The black tint looks darn good with the silver paint.

LOL, does your window tint in Alaska keep the heat in?

well, right now with the heat wave we've been having it's been about 85-90 outside. it does help keep the sun out. as for winter time, let's hope it attracts the heat inside.

Welcome. I'm new here also. How's the hitch? I was thinking of looking in to a hitch to mount a bike rack. I looked at the website link you posted. What are you using it for?

Thanks for the pictures! I haven't installed it yet, but I currently use a Hollywood 2-bike fork/rear tire mount rack. I highly recommend this type of rack for stability since it uses the same rails as most roof rack systems. I paid $75 on ebay and it was new. I'm also buying a Yakima fork mount block ($16) to install into one of the trunk rails.

GM Card Bonus?

Hey I was just wondering what the GM Card bonus was, because I thought you could only put $1000 into a Vibe from your GM Card?

I received a flyer in the mail a month ago for $2003 off any model year GM, regardless of current card amount ($400) or vehicle redemption limit ($1000). I've received some other flyers for an extra $500 off, but the $2003 was cool.

When I was checking out I notice that I'm about 45 minutes away from them. I hope with 3 bikes on the back that I don't look like the Toureg commercial!

I laugh at how people complain on this site about the Vibe GT's lack of low RPM torque. It's the same complaint some have with the S2000, but I don't hear them as I'm screaming away at 9000 rpm! I've yet to be in a GT driven up to redline (nagging dealers) - must be fun too.
