09-10 Ticking noise at low speed

Faint Ticking noise at 50km/hr or 35 mph..Many people might thought it is a wheel bearing is busted but it is not..
You hear by rolling down the window driving at the road lining with fence/wall/building at 80 F ambient/23 C+.
It sounds like a axle noise, but the noise persist even you engage your brakes or it doesn't matter which steering direction you go. All i could say it is speed dependent and temperature dependent.
It really drove me crazy.
Here what I had done..
I thought must be a chip of rust or something at the rear brakes..suggested a Polish mechanics that work in a yota dealership.
Remove the brake pad, re- sand the rotors using low grit sand paper check ..

2nd try
take the pads out, flip the bronze shim at top and bottom of the rear pads. I notice there is a dot (hole marking) at the shim, even top and bottom shims looks identical, i wondering if I flip their position would make the noise stop. Also I see a little "wing" at that shim to slot at at the brake mounting bracket, I just want to make sure it is not rubbing the rotor during WOT. Use a screw driver to straighten it a little or make the clearence btw shim and the rotor larger,, and also sand the circumference of the rear brake rotor.
See shims below. Out of topic remarks- Bendix are made by Honeywell.. so you can add this to your aftermarket brake part supplier list.. in additional to Aisin/Advics/ACDelco/Centric Premium..

Took the hubcaps off... bingo..no more ticking noise.
