I have been doing some research and the Pioneer AppRadio 3 is a head unit I would like to get and install in my 2007 Vibe. I did some searching around the forums here and haven't seen too much info on anyone installing one in their Vibe. I want to do this install myself and was hoping to get some ideas or tips on what extra parts I would need int order to install this head unit. I wanted to ask about parts like wiring harness, double din dash kit, ebrake bypass (if used), antenna adapter, and backup camera (if used) to buy to get the radio installed.

Any info about anyone's AppRadio install would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
The Goat

Here is some info on the radio I put in my son's 06.

It is the same process for installing any double DIN radio in a Vibe. The wires all matched up and it was easy to solder them together between the harness that came with the radio and the adapter harness. I used the info on the Crutchfield website to buy all of the parts I needed. A local Advance Auto had the wiring adapter harness for about $9 and I got the antenna adapter from the stereo place I bought the unit from for about $12. The Metra install kit was about $18, but you might be able to get it cheaper. Like I mentioned in the other thread, I used the stock metal brackets to mount the radio since the plastic ones with the Metra kit seemed cheap, but they did require some simple mods to mount to the radio. I did order a parking brake bypass on ebay, and it works well. I haven't wired in a back up camera, but if he wants it, I think it can be done on his.

Good luck on it!
