Speaker size confirmation?

I am hoping to clear up some come confusion regarding speaker sizes in the 2003-2008 Vibes; in particular, the rear door speakers!
When searching for factory speaker sizes, the rear doors are listed as having 5.25" speakers. However, when you visit Crutchfield's website, they list 6.5" speakers as compatible BUT there isn't a single 5.25" speaker that is listed as compatible....Huh!!!!!
Please help clarify this issue for me before I get some speakers ordered for our 2003 and 2006 Vibes

Crutchfield is correct 6.5" for 2003-2008 The 5.25 is due to the OEM mounting flange, if you get new speakers (from Crutchfield) they will include the needed adapter rings.

Thanks for clearing that up, derf - I was curious about that.
Just replaced the rear speakers in Mrs. Panic's last week. I ordered the cheapest pair of 6.5" that Crutchfield had and used their mounting brackets and wiring harness adapters.
Here's the bracket and wiring harness installed:
The supplied hardware could be better for the brackets, the screws are ridiculously long for this application. But the holes all lined up without incident for the bracket. The tab for the bottom screw comes down fairly far and I think it might slightly be in the way of the bottom edge of the door panel but doesn't seem to have any adverse effects.
I did have to buy shorter screws for mounting the speaker to the bracket, the ones that came with the speakers were far too long. Added double-sided tape to a few places on the back of the brackets to (hopefully) eliminate some rattling.
Good luck!

Same here, in the kit, supplied fasteners were just not what I needed, so made substitutions.
Thumb way up on the double sided tape between the bracket and door. Anything you can do to eliminate rattles. Also while the old speaker is removed, good opportunity to add some sound dampening material behind the speaker, reduce road noise and resonance from the speaker "vibrating the tin can that is the door"
