VVTL oil pressure sensor seal leak!

I'm leaking a good amount of oil from this seal after removing and cleaning the actuator!

Should I crank it down a little to see if it seals up or might it hurt the sensor?

And does anyone know a part number for this seal? Something I can get from the parts store today? I'd like to get this oil leak fixed!

I think I found the leak. It seems to be leaking out from the sensor housing itself.

I took the sensor off and was cleaning it. I sprayed some can cleaner into the sensor opening, and I saw dirty oil coming out of the sensor housing! It wasn't leaking before, so I assume the can cleaner must have messed with the plastic. Stupid me!

I need a new sensor! Any ideas?

Well I guess there is nothing special about the oil pressure sender. I just got a generic one for the vibe gt from advance. Leak is gone.

Phew! I thought it would be something serious!

Thanks for sharing! I was wondering how things were going with your 'new' old GT.

I'm pretty much done. Just have to:

Troubleshoot the O2 heater circuits. I'm getting the code for both sensors.

Troubleshoot noisy/loose suspension. The steering feels fine. I've bought new quick strut assemblies. I need to check sway bar end links and bushings. I also find that the car veers slightly to one side when I get on and off the gas. The last car that did that to me, the control am bushings were worn.

Replace rear caliper and troubleshoot why I have no parking brake.

Troubleshoot ABS light.

Still have to install exhaust donuts

replace radio and some blown speakers

I've been driving the thing quite a bit, and it drives well. Steering feels good. It's pretty quick. Seems good on gas.

I'll be driving it even more now that the ac is working and the oil has stopped leaking.

Hah! You are pretty much done ...........................except for the laundry list!

Keep us posted. I personally learn a lot from that. You are driving a cool project. :D

I just pulled the carpet for a good cleaning and putting some sound control in place.

Oh is not much. The only parts I'm a little worried about are the O2 and pinpointing what's loose in the suspension so I don't replace more than I need to.

I'm learning a lot too!

Oh, you just pulled the carpet? What do these connect to?
