Fix window scratches?

Last night I was doing someone a favor and drove them home.
On my way back someone decided to pull up along side me and my vibe took a baseball bat to the driver's window.

Luckily it was a bat and not a gun.
Jerks put a scratch into the driver's side window about ear level. It's about 1/4 inch wide and about an inch long.
Anyone know if there's anything I can use to fill it in.
It looks like widow etching of a bird dropping now. :(

They somehow put a couple of scratches into the paint just below the door handle, but I'm pretty sure I can buff those out.

If it is not to deep an auto glass shop can buff it out.

Remember: no good deed goes unpunished. You did not have to wait for long.

I would go to a glass shop and ask them if they can buff it out for how much?
If it is too much I would replace it with one from a junk yard. Take your time to find one. From your posts I know you are handy.

There are scratch removers for prescription glasses. However today's lenses are almost exclusively made of plastic. These scratch repairs are only temporary and I would not know if they work on glass and if they can stand the rigors of the environment.

You could try brushing over the scratch with a clear auto touch up paint pen. This is not going to fix it but may make it so it is not as noticeable. If you don't like it, your not out much so it could be worth a try.
