2009 Matrix clock transplant

I'm thinking of swapping the HVAC control assembly from a Matrix into my Vibe, because the Matrix has a clock in place of the tiny cubby. It looks like a direct fit except for the clock connector.

The connector has 4 pins. Apparently the pins are:

Dome fuse
ACC fuse
Panel fuse
Ground

It seems that all three of these power sources are switched, right? How would the clock maintain the time? Maybe the Dome is always powered, which explains why you can turn interior lights on even if the car is off. So I suppose Panel would be for illumination and ACC would be for turning the face on and off. Assuming this is the case, I can tap off the radio yellow wire for Dome, red wire for Acc, and orange wire for Panel.

Has anyone done this?

I went ahead and ordered the parts off eBay. Had to get the HVAC control assembly, which the clock is a part of, and the shift bezel/trim panel. Will take pics and let you know how it goes.

I'd think the DOME fuse would be constant, not switched, since the dome lights come on with no key in the ignition

Yeah, that makes sense. I will tap off the +12V yellow power wire for my stereo for Dome.

Just to follow up, this worked perfectly. Here are the parts I needed:

Matrix clock/HVAC control assembly
Matrix clock plug (not included on assembly from eBay, but you could get it from a junkyard)
Matrix lower center console cover (shift area cover)

The Matrix console cover has a silver shift plate while the Vibe has a charcoal one. They are NOT interchangeable with the Vibe covers, so you're stuck with the silver color.

For reference, the clock plug wires are:
Pink: Dome (+12v constant)
Gray: ACC (+12v switched with ignition)
White/Black: Ground
Green: Illumination
