Window & door issue

Hi,
Since we bought our '06 vibe ~6 years ago we have always heard a clicking sound when the driver window gets about 2/3 open. We lived with it for years. This winter the composit door stop that slows and stops the door when it opens snapped. Never thought about it but the window clicking stopped. Yesterday I had an issue opening the window and the clicking has started again (I replaced the composit part 1 week ago).Has anyone else had this problem? I was hoping for some advice before I started tearing things open and pulling/twisting on things.
Thanks in advance,
Jon

My 05 Base also clicks at the same position on lowering. This is caused (on my car) by the "tang" at the end of the door stop being in the path of the lower window edge as it passes the door-stop's location. Your car may also have the tell-tale tattoo on the window inside of the drivers door, where this "tang" wears on the window when the window is in the up position! I assume the problem occurs when the plastic stop strap is stretched by hyper-extension of the door. Replacing the stop strap with an OEM strap should work, but I have not tried that. You may also be able to grind a little off the end of the tang that is touching the window, but I haven't tried that either. For now, I'm just living with it.

Might not be a bad idea to check whatever bolts on the regulator that back out and make the window shatter. I don't remember if the 2006 was subject to the same recall the older Vibe/Matrix/Corolla models had for this. That said, a co-worker had the window shatter on his 2008 Corolla while rolling down the window so I guess Toyota really fixed the glitch there!
When I owned my Vibe, I had it in the shop half a dozen times if not more for this clicking/snapping, no matter what new parts they threw at it I still had the problem. The Mrs' car also has developed the same click. I'm afraid to put the windows down on it anymore, in addition to the click, the motor sounds so strained as it struggles to move the glass. Old, worn out car.

That's a very simple fix!
