Has any one done this?
I have a 6 speed ready to go.
Need to know if its a direct swap???

Other people have indeed done it, and as long as it is the C60 6-speed transmission (00-05 Celica GT-S, 03-06 Matrix/Corolla XRS, 03-06 Vibe GT) then it will bolt right up and work with the 5-speed parts. You'll need a new shiftknob, though (for obvious reasons).

Only a direct bolt up if the C60 came from a Corolla XRS, Matrix XRS or Vibe GT. The celica one will work, but you'll need to modify it slightly. MWR sells the kit you'll need to make a Celica one work.

I've swapped a 5speed into my Corolla XRS as a temporary fix in the past. It literally bolts right up.

Yes just verified it is from a GT and is the C60 tranny.
So no issues then, correct?
Just the purchase of the shifter

I have not done it myself (autotragic) but others have. In fact, someone out there swapped from automatic to the C60 6-speed. Anyway, yes, it will bolt right in, and the only thing needing changing will be the shift knob.

Are you planning on replacing anything else while it's out?

Clutch and flywheel? If yes. You're going to need to get new flywheel bolts. You shouldn't use the ones you're taking out.

Awesome....good path...but the MPGs may drop a little.

If any knows the person that did this, please point them
in my direction..
I have a shop to do the work, but want input on "Do it Yourself".
Pretty much main reason for this thread..

I've done the swap also. During the swap, I replaced:

new flywheel (and ARP bolts) http://www.twosrus.com/catalog/product_ ... cts_id=304
new aftermarket clutch
new front struts (since it was apart anyway)
