Radio display is very dim, need help?

Hi, my radio display is barely visible, I can hardly see the station setting or anything else. Is there
a way to change anything like a bulb or faceplate that might make it better? It almost looks like the
far left side is losing some of its light, while the right side is ok but still pretty dim, even at night.
Forget about trying to see anything during the day. Any options for me other then replacing the
radio, it works fine?

Same thing happened to my radio. Eventually, the whole display went dark. I asked the same question and was told there is nothing you can do except replace the radio.

Ditto.

Perhaps, you could pull apart the stereo. Perchance, you could find the right display, and just maybe you could solder the whole thing properly and everything would well...

I generally go the hard route, but even I decided to blow a hundred bucks and buy a new headunit that was better than the old one, ie; bluetooth, aux, usb.

Disclaimer: If you run the factory amp (if yours is so equipped), you will need to buy a low line converter to install between the new stereo and the car's harness or you will get static from overpowering the factory amp. If you have it installed, there's a good chance they may miss this, as well.

If it's not dim because of the dimmer switch, it could be burned out bulbs, which is not rare in those radios. You can replace the bulbs in the 03-08 OEM radios. See viewtopic.php?t=26889" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
If you decide to replace the bulbs, read that whole thread, since it worked fine for most of the people that tried it, but didn't for some

Nevermind. lol

I was just about to post a link to the same thread. I recalled later after posting that the earlier ones are easier to replace the lights on but I still kinda feel the same way about it.
