I did. This was for my 05 Corolla. 2005-2010 Matrix was covered too. Nothing on Vibe. https://www.toyotaelsettlement.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The lawsuit claims that certain Toyota, Scion and Lexus vehicles equipped with electronic throttle control systems (ETCS) are defective and can experience unintended acceleration. As a result, the suit pursues claims for breach of warranties, unjust enrichment, and violations of various state consumer protection statutes. Toyota denies that it has violated any law, denies that it engaged in any and all wrongdoing, and denies that its ETCS is defective. The parties agreed to resolve these matters before these issues were decided by the Court. This settlement does not involve claims of personal injury or property damage.

That's better than most class action suits. Usually the attorneys make millions and the poor schlubs get a coupon that you aren't going to use anyway.

My guess it is over the DBW change over. That's why it didn't effect the 4WD/AWD and the 2zz 05+

What s the DBW changer over?

Since GM was bankrupt they might have been able to dodge any payment responsibility. Anyway, was there ever any proof that the unintended acceleration was caused by a defect?

Drive by wire aka electronic throttle. Corolla, Matrix and Vibe it was started in 2005 on except for the 2zz and AWD models. Your 2009 Vibe has Drive by wire, and electric steering as well.

So my 2009 Vibe would have the same issue but no money from Toyota. That's o.k. My 2009 Vibe cost a few thousand less than a 2009 Matrix.

Only when there was a partridge on the road in front of me and I was feeling hungry! :shock:

I also received $29. In fact, everybody should have received $29 as the monies would have been divided equally among the parties involved.

We opted out as such a lawsuit was a complete crock. I will not contribute to such a thing. It only lines the pockets of the lawyer groups involved. Not to mention, I believe the whole UA fiasco was just that a freakin' fiasco. Granted, $29 may be quite a bit comparatively, but that only proves my point further.
I simply hate these things because I don't really feel like it's for the people and negatively impacts every industry and ultimately the consumer.

I totally agree. I don't remember even getting anything in the mail about it. I did get a check for $20.91 though and I own two cars on that list.

Reminds me of the class action suit against Ameritech some years ago for overcharging & hiding it from the bills. The award was a $5 card that could be used to make calls from their pay phones!! Pay phones still existed then, but were starting to be hard to find and almost nobody used them. I opted out of the class action suit, which only required notifying the court. Ameritech had to refund what they had overcharged me, but claimed they didn't have records showing how much. Guess what? I sent them copies of 20 years of my phone bills and got about $350.

Currently am a member of the class action against Angie's List for its deceptive business practices. They double charged me for about $50, but my award will be a small coupon to be used for products they sell. Like I would ever want to do business with them. Wish I had opted out of this one, but was too busy & missed the deadline.
