High Mileage 200K Maintenance Items

I currently have a 2004 vibe that passed the 200K mile mark and is going strong. Recently i had issues resulting from a bad intake manifold gasket. It took me about 2 hours to replace this $10 dealer part and the car ran great again. Seems like everyone that can, probably should consider replacing this. Mine was very brittle.

So this event made me think, were there other items that I should replace and be more proactive?

Don't know of anything specific other than the routine stuff, but as part of that, don't forget to periodically check the serpentine belt.

Also, a number of these engines develop an oil use or oil loss issue, so as they get older, it is more important to keep a closer eye on the oil level between changes

Joatmon,
Thanks for the reply. Good advice on the oil usage. Definitely don't want a warning light telling you that oil is low. Just the same, I always keep a quart of oil in the storage area in back.

What do you think about some of the parts that I have that I believe are original. suspension\struts, engine mounts, timing chain guides. Can't think of other that might not be maintenance items. No unusual chatter up front. Not sure if could idle smoother...

Time for another ride. 200K miles is pretty good out of a car like this.
