Are there any real performance chips available that work?

No there are not. Just rip-off snake oil products. If it was that easy and cheap to get more power, all auto makers would be doing it.
There are aftermarket ECU piggybacks but they are very expensive and offer little gain for the money.

X2 the performance "Chips" are crap. With an IHE and piggyback with a dyno tune will cost about $1400 and net 20-25hp.

Alas, the site owner doesn't control the ads, it is simply a way to help cover the costs associated with the site. The ad company selects the ads based on the demographics of the site.
check out the engine area for a list of all possible performance goodies for our little cars, or, ask around, some of us have most, if not all the goodies available.

These cars are a closed loop system. The Performance chip work only for a few days. They change the air flow signal to the ECU but the ECU still reads the O2 sensor. So after a few days the ECU adjusts the fuel trims to get back to 14.7 on the O2.
Here's a good link.
