09 Vibe GT - baby friendly?

So I had an 03 Vibe Base and it was a great car, but for some reason decided to sell it and bought a 2007 Honda Element SC, it's a nice car, but I am not blown away by it and with the small suicide door and only 2 backseats, it's a pain in the (removed) for putting my daughter in her car seat and then taking anymore than 2 passengers. Anyway, I had my eye on an 09 Vibe GT before I bought the Element and am seriously thinking of trading in the E on a Vibe GT. Can anyone chime in on the cargo room in the back about having a stroller, does it fit well and lay flat? What about leg room with a forward facing car seat in the backseat. I'm 5'10" and my wife is 5'6". I'm really trying to talk myself into this car.

My 4 year old niece fits in a forward facing seat just fine behind me (6'3") with the seat all the way back. I've also had several different strollers in the back with no issues, but that probably depends on your stroller. Worst case scenario you could fold down the smaller half of the back seat and have the entire length from the hatch to the back seat to fit in the stroller if it's one of the huge jogging ones.

If it helps any, my wife has a mini-van and since I got the Vibe she takes the Vibe whenever I'm not in it, unless she has more than three kids to fit in (it's actually a bone of contention since I HATE driving the mini-van!). :) I've certainly never had a more kid-friendly small car.

Ha! I'd take the Vibe over the van any day. My wife has a Nissan cube Krom model and that is surprisingly roomy in the back seat, like overly roomy, but very little storage room. I'm working out a deal now on an 09 GT with 44,000 miles on it. I think I'll probably end up getting it, although it doesn't have the sunroof I want.

We have a small fold up stroller now, not the larger than life ones you have when they are smaller. She's 15 months and is pretty mobile.

Well, I picked up the 09 GT in grey over the weekend. Traded in my Element SC. I love this car so far. Already added 5% tint, have all-weather mats on order as well. Will post pics when the snow goes away.

Awesome ;) Now you're officially another Vibe legitimate owner! How much $$$ did this Vibe set you back? Aside from the sunroof being missing :x you'll be glad you got it. Looking forward to pics of your Vibe!

I paid 11,500. It has 44000 miles and is automatic with Monsoon. I think I got a good deal. Installed the Husky Liner floor mats today as well.

I found the gen1 to have more rear seat space for rear facing seats... im 6' and could sit in the passenger seat with a rear facing seat behind me. The same seat didn't fit as well in the gen2 (I had my eye on a non-gt 2.4 5spd, but ended up in a gen1 GT)

I did see that for sale, tempting for sure. I'll have to let you know. I liked the Husky Liners, but I didn't like how they don't have the holes for the drivers side floormat to stay in place. I ended up making my own holes so the hooks would go through.
