Livin the dream

Just looking through an old diary I kept when I was around 10 : "When I grow up, I'm going to get a pontiac bonneville safari - it has a back seat that folds into the floor and a rear window that rolls down.. .. and it carries lots of stuff...". I remember reading that page around 10 years ago thinking that I must have been dropped on my head a lot as a kid, yet here I am driving a station wagon with a folding rear seat and moving rear glass. I know it's no Pontiac bonneville safari (for those old enough to remember those), what with the 6 sp manual, 8300 rpm revlimit, and 30 mpg - but I gotta thank Pontiac for bringing me back to the dream. Did I mention that I really love my Vibe?

Dude, I was browsing thru Hemming.com and ran across that same wagon (at least from the outside). it was lowered w/ dubs and a modern powertrain - kinda done up like a hot rod power tour car SWEEEEET!

I was actually thinking 1980, since there were more features, but the 61 looks the best (big surprise). There's a 1972 in cardomain where the guy ripped out the rear seat and glassed in a subbox. It makes me pretty jealous... http://www.cardomain.com/member_pages/v ... c%20Safari
