Torn Strut boots torn at 78K miles...if replacing, then...?

Had changed tires recently and saw that the front strut boots were torn when the tires were off. at 78K it still drives decent. But if I am going to the trouble of changing the boot, should I go ahead and just change the whole strut assemblies?
If I change struts assemblies I think I may want to drop 1" all around. what would you all recommend for equipment to do so? Keep the springs but just replace shorter struts? or full assemblies with 1" drop springs?
Kind of opening a can of worms with many different options to consider. For what it's worth I now have 18x8 mille miglia KV5s with same diameter tire as stock, if that has any bearing on direction to go
