Well, here it is... my 5000th post on GenVibe!

I took a walk down memory lane the other day... here's the very first post I ever made on GenVibe introducing myself and my Vibe. I'm such a rebel that I made my first post in the Garage Forum instead of the Vibe Lounge !

For those of you who are newcomers to GenVibe and may not be aware, my username on here used to be J TO ENVY. It came from my previous vehicles being Pontiac Sunfires (J-Body cars). I actually even had it as a vanity license plate on my first Sunfire. When I joined here I couldn't think of a better username, so I stuck with it. Earlier this year I was getting tired of it though and ended up having an epiphany that I should change it to vibenvy, so I started a thread asking if it was possible and the wonderful GenVibe mods made it happen for me !

I have been a GenVibe member and Vibe owner for a little over four and a half years now and it has been a great experience all around. I have been lucky enough to attend a total of five GenVibe meets (Indy in 2010, Pontiac, IL in 2013 and three smaller Chicagoland meets in 2010 and 2012). I have also had the pleasure of meeting tons of my fellow GenVibe members / Vibe owners in person. I look forward to attending many more meets and meeting many more of you in the years to come. The GenVibe meets are far and away the best vehicle meets I have ever been to. Everyone instantly feels like family. There's no "My Vibe is better/faster/cooler/etc. than your Vibe." It's just a great, fun atomsphere. It's also nice not to have to worry about people driving like morons (i.e. squealing tires, street racing, etc.). I have experienced way too much of this behavior in the past and it always ended up ruining the entire experience for me .

I always look forward to logging onto GenVibe to check out the latest posts. I get a huge kick out of seeing what everyone's doing with their Vibes and of course to show off our Vibes as well. It also makes me feel great when I can help a fellow GenVibe member / Vibe owner with a question or issue they may have. I have of course gotten plenty of help from other members myself and I assure you it is very much appreciated. GenVibe is the only place that my unusually accurate memory for Vibe part numbers and info really comes in handy and is appreciated !

Well, I guess that's enough of my rambling for now. In closing I have one thing to say...

Yay! Good contributions, Carrie. It was a pleasure hanging out with you in Pontiac. And by the sounds of it, probably next year, too. I guess I've got a few posts to go before 5k. I think you'd really enjoy the GenVibe Facebook page. A lot more fun and active. But I guess this way it's great to tab over and see Carrie made a new post!

It's sad, I have less than an thousand posts here, and on SOF I am closer to 3k. I feel a little guilty, but then I remember that the Sonic is a new name, and I think back to when I would dig up the old threads on here and see the excitement and enthusiasm of the very first Vibe owners, read their hopes and dreams for what would come. I realize I am doing that for the Sonic right now.

This place is an amazing resource and you've made a huge contribution to that with your 5k posts!!

Nick, I always think I need to get on the Facebook page, but I never go on Facebook so... . I prefer posting on here.

I just did a quick search on The J-Body Organization website (where I was a very active member before I joined GenVibe) and it looks like I only have 4276 posts on there. I joined there in September of 2002. I guess I have a lot more to contribute here than I ever did over there !

Been away for awhile and catching up on older posts! Congrats Carrie and maybe in a couple more years I'll hit the 5k mark Keep up the good work informing and researching anything Vibe related for all of us here at GenVibe

I will most definitely be around here for a long time to come helping out whenever I can. I haven't been on all week and I was starting to have withdrawals !

Just thought I'd bump this thread as I made my 6000th post earlier today! I still love getting on here and welcoming new members, seeing what the "old timers" are up to, showing off what I've been up to, etc. GenVibe is as enjoyable as ever !

Congrats on being #9 on the all-time poster list. It's the few members like you that keep this forum going.

Congrats Carrie! And also, if you skip members that have not been active in over a year, you will be #3 in post count after July 21! As of then, only joatmon and ColonelPanic are the two active members with more posts.

Thanks Tim! Hmmm... my avatar picture is showing fine for me . I deleted my old signature after the meet in Pontiac because I had a link for the thread for the meet in it. I am wanting to get a new picture of our two Vibes together to use as my signature, so for now I just have the text in my signature.

Thanks Thomas! I did notice when looking at the other top 10 posters last night that the majority of them haven't posted in a long time. Moving up the ladder even faster then I guess !

Hmmm... I will try to get it figured out one day this week when I am able to get to the library to use the high speed internet (currently at home on dial up )...

Thanks Cole! I actually just bumped this thread when I made my 6000th post last weekend. The thread was originally started in December of 2013 which was when I hit 5000 .

I don't really care whether the list is accurate or not. I post when I feel I have something to add to a thread. I don't post just to post and / or up my post count or anything like that.

I didn't take it too personally. I simply stated that I don't post here to achieve "top poster status" or anything like that. I post here when I feel I have something relevant to add.

I'm at .29 posts per day over these 15.4 years. I'm trying very hard to keep it under .30 posts per day

The post tally for me is spot on, unless it is not counting posts for some reason. Of the 5,612 days since I've been a member, I am indeed at .29 posts per day.

I'm not far behind at .25 per day! But I've only been here for 5 years.

You've actually surpassed Mavrik, and are about 2k behind aklgt.
