Hi Folks,
I just bought a 2003 Vibe, bolt action so I could tow it. Just had the Blue Ox Base Plate installed and the tech said it is missing the center/front engine splash shield................I have searched high and low. Everyone shows a left and right but no center/front. Did they ever have one???
Thanx in advance,
Barry

I can't find one either. I don't think there is one...you can always make one out of the corrugated plastic politics signs, though!
Here's a diagram showing L and R shields but no middle:

Welcome to the forum! The shields in above parts diagram meet in the middle.
You going to tow your Vibe behind an RV, I take it? You picked a fairly light car for the job.

Thanx guys for the replies. Just got back from 1200 miles in 38 hours with the little Vibe. Cruise set at 70 mph truing 72 by GPS.....over 34 mpg on regular gas! I could not be more pleased. Only downside is the Airbag warning light started flashing on the way back. It's in the GM house tonight for a safety recall concerning that matter.

It is a 2003 Pontiac Vibe with 67,000 one owner lady miles. Serviced at GM stores all it's life. CarFax is cleaner than Angel drawers. The little rig is just brand new in the box! I could not be happier and that includes the sweet thing standing by the car the day I bought it. I thought for $5500 it's the biggest bargain since zippers on britches!
Now a question for the Gurus out there.............what is the deal with the wrap around lower trim? Was that an option?

It was standard, and the monotone package (trim matching the car) was optional. It's a pain to take care of, but has no paint to get chipped off or scratched.

Hey Thanx for the explanation. But I have seen some Vibes that did not have the skirt. I know how to take care of it................I'll post before and after pix.

NEWS FLASH: GM dealer just called. There has been a special TSB issued on November 22 regarding the inspection of the driver's side airbag. Requires a special tool from GM only sent to certain, chosen GM dealers to do the inspection. Therefore, the service dept. at the local GM dealer cannot tell me why my airbag warning light is blinking. Will be first of next week before they will have an answer from the District Manager regarding which certain, chosen, special dealerships are doing the inspections...................
Units affected are 2003, 2004..................

I received that letter...but they are still waiting for parts and such I guess.
I wonder how they get your address...perhaps through insurance? *shrug* I was surprised it arrived at my current place as I just moved!

I think they pick it up from registrations................remember, BIG BROTHER is watching you! I have all the paperwork the local GM Dealer printed out for me. I'll post the TSB number later today.

Hey Salsa Guy, do you think it's that "Global Warming" thing?
Stopped on the way back from Cheyenne in the little town of Leedey, Ok(just south of Woodward) and bought a KW for the dealership. It was a good trip............but I told my Lady unless they were going to move Christmas to July, I was not going back to Cheyenne for Christmas.
This Cajun boy's web feet were not made for snow and ice....................

Geez...Leedey OK??? Wow that's a bit off the beaten path. I've never been to Woodward OK and lived in Tulsa for 20 years

They were going to have a Christmas Parade in Leedey but when they got everyone lined up, there was nobody left to watch it......
