Pontiac Updates Its Site

I just noticed that Pontiac updated its Vibe site to the '04s. Not exactly sure when this happened, since I haven't felt the need to check their site everyday since I got mine. But here it is: http://www.pontiac.com/vibe/(P.S. - check out the photo gallery, and click on the Fusion Orange pic. Does anyone want to venture a guess as to what they mean by "Make more than just your spine tingle." ?)

They must have changed it last night b/c when i checked yesterday, it was still showing the 2003 info. So what's the deal with the new power ratings on the GT. Is the matrix getting the same retuned engine????

I don't think it's for emissions, I think the retuned it for more low end torque. The maximum torque is now 127 @ 4400 rpm instead of 130@6800 rpm. But now max horse power is 173 @ 7600 rpm instead of 180 @ 7600 rpm. Don't know what to think of this yet. It was kinda cool having the engine make 100hp per liter.

Then I wonder if the matrix will get this same emissions adjustment

quote:I would assume. It is because of a emission part they added on or something. Silver's probably right. There's an air pump added to the 2004 Vibe GT and 2004 Matrix XRS to bring it to a new emissions bracket. For some reason Toyota has not re-rated the HP on the Matrix. At least not that I've seen. While I've not seen definite documentation as to whether or not this is the cause of the decrease, given past experience with such systems I'd say it is.

Looks like the Fusion is not avail. in two-tone in the "Color Selection" window, but when you go into "Build it yourself" and click on Fusion Orange... the first thing it pulls up is a two-tone Fusion Vibe. That's kind of weird, check it out!Looking over the new site I was just wondering what the "stain resistant cargo area" means... Is that any different than what is in the '03 Vibe? They also have REAL Visors now... with extensions! I want those!

AFAIK, stain-resistant = plastic.Just checked the 03 sales guide. Mentions a scratch-resistant cargo floor, but nothing about stain-resistant.*shrug*Still think it's the same.

Scratch-resistant my @$$... the cargo floor scratches almost as easily as the upper part of the dash.

Actually, I found that a bi-weekly or monthly coating of armor all protectant has kept my floor and dash from getting scratched much at all...

I look at it as the part is made of cardboard (most likely), vinyl, some plastic. Something that MAYBE cost $5 to produce, at most, is being sold for over $70! That's what's absurd. But no, you're right, it's right on par with typical interior part pricing...

quote:Bites that the Fusion is not available in Two-Tone. Actually you can, the dealership where I bought my car has one in the lot with the new flared sides. Spoke to my sales guy and told him that when I bring mine in I want the new sides put on, he said no problem. Still I'm not crazy about the new color in two tone, mono tone looks good but not with the grey.
