Pontiac Vibe vs Chevy Traverse

Here is a picture of the 2004/5 Chevy Traverse CUV concept which will likely be built on the same chassis as the Saturn Vue, which is priced similiar to the Vibe. The Traverse seems bigger than the Vibe but has very similiar styling features, a Chevy face, and built on a GM platform. I'd be interested to see how Vibe owners would have reacted if both cars were available for sale at the same time.

Granted I do like the design of the Traverse. It is sporty and new looking just as the Vibe is, but as I stated in another post, I would not buy a first-gen pure-GM vehicle. I probably would have still went with the Vibe due to the large Toyota involvement. The key-word here is Reliability.

You hit the nail on the head. The bowtie does looks cool BUT the only reason I have a Vibe is because of the Toyota content and it was assembled at NUMMI. The American plant is rated higher by J.D. Powers than the Matrix plant in Cambridge Ontario. I just dumped all my North American designed Auto's for what ever consumers reports says................Toyota. my other vechile is a Highlander.

I would still have bought the Vibe. I like the body styling better. I don't have a clue about the inner workings and stuff like that. I don't like the roof rack, rear side windows or the silver band in front. In my opinion, the Vibe has a cuter face.

The traverse "face" looks "clownish" in my opinion.
