Allright, i just got done replacing my windows earlier today and i noticed a slight problem, my power windows dont work!. I went through all the fuses, just to make sure and the options tied into the power window fuse still work(AC, Rear window wiper, ect..) they are all pluged in, any suggestions on what could be the problem. Thanks

It could be a stuck motor and an unplugged wire.Take it back to the dealer to have it fixed

they are all plugged in, just went back and checked them...how much would a dealer charge to fix something like that?

Depends on what the problem is.Why did you replace your windows?

The power windows get power from the Power fuse (#24, 30A) but that is switched by a relay that gets activated when the ignition is on through the Gauge fuse, (#18, 10A) If it's not one of those (and it's unlikely you broke the window relay by changing speakers) it's probably a bad conmection to the window control switches. If the fuses are good, focus on the driver door and verify the connector is properly connected to the window control switch.

i've been through the fuses allready, yet i checked them again. They are all fine. Everything else on my car works fine as well. I have verified multiple times that all window plugs are connected properly. Any other suggestions

I kinda thought so, but that's about all the book has to say, check the fuses, check the wiring, check the relay, it's fixed. The relay is on the other side of the instrument panel fuse block, you can get to it by removing the left dash storage bin, but it seems unlikely How about the door locks, do they work? (I know you said everything else works, just checking)Do you get any sound at all when you try to open the windows?I don't envy you checking the fuses multiple times. The location of the fuse box is one of my vibe gripes.

Do the speakers work? Perhaps if they dont' work, you can check for a short or something that might've blown the relay or something?

Some of the power window wiring goes through the samw connectors as the power lock wiring. If the cable is connected to the power window switch, then having the locks work would indicate that the connector on the other end of the door wiring harness is also connected. Mine doesn't have that door wiring harness, the only wire into my door is for the mirror. There are three relays that look the same , all in a row, (relatively) tall black boxes that say Toyota relay on them. The P/W relay is supposed to be the one in the middle. One of the other two is the "IGN 1" relay, whcih feeds the ignition fuse that drives the P/W relay, and the other one is supposed to be the "C/OPN" relay that looks like it's for the fuel pump, although I don;t know why they call it the "C/OPN" relay. If this info is correct, you might be able to swap the PW relay with the C/OPN relay and if you get the same results (and the car still runs) then the relay was probably not the cause. To be consistent with the fuse panel, the relays are not that easy to get to.other than that, it's hard to say what could cause the problem without taking a meter and the schematics and checking every wire. There might be a way to jumperr 12V on the window motor to get them to roll up, but I'd have to see one to figure out how practical that would be.Sorry I can't come up with anything to try. Good luck, hope it doesn't rain on you, and let us know what the problem was when you get it figured out.

ragingfish, the speakers work as well, i checked every electrical system throughout my car, and everything works finejoatmon, thanks for all the help on this one, dont rattle your brain too much on it. I work in the best buy installtion bay, so i'll have access to all my tools tomorrow. Its odd, i've never come across anything like this before. I'll let you know what the problem is. If i cant figure it out, i'll take it to the dealer as a last resort

Been 2 weeks, you ever get the windows working again? If so, what was the problem?

figures it would be the thing that I said there was the least probable to be causing the problem. At least it's fixed!

Hi im new to the forum but im having simular problems I recently wanted to hook up a new Radio but havent been able to yet but in order to connect a new radio you have to run a power wire and a "Expert tech." hooked the wire to the acc line which I think sometime blew a relay no fuses blown, but the radio (factory), windows(power), A/C, Windshield wipers, no gauge lights, like everything still works on the outside of the car lights and what not well anyone have any ideas thanks alot I could really use the help
