CD's stuck in 6 disc changer!

The other day I got in my Vibe in the morning and when I tried to eject a CD, the player wouldn't eject ANY of the 6 loaded discs. no disc changer motor noise at all, just the beep when you try to eject it, the light stays red (doesn't turn green) It is still under warranty, so I will take it to the dealer next week unless someone knows if there is a reset procedure or something to try first.

Might be best to just take it in. That way if they mess it up trying to get the disks out, it will be their responsibility. Did you hold the eject button in? The book says it might need to be held in for a couple of seconds.Only problem I had getting a disk out was one with a paper label. It gets pretty warm in there, and the paper CD label buckled. It came out, but just barely, and I won't risk using it again. burned another copy and used a sharpie to label it

I will try holding the eject button. the player has one CD inside with a paper label, and it was pretty hot where I was (over 100 degrees) so that may be an issue, but none of the other CD's will eject either. Thanks and I will let you know if it helps before I take it in.

Let them risk breaking it.

Well, I took it in and now I have no stereo, just a hole in the dash. They have to order a new one from Seattle, should be here in a few days and then they will install it. My old one, including the trapped CD's will be shipped off somewhere and in 4-6 weeks they will mail my CD's back to me. The Service rep said home burned CD's are usually the cause, though he didn't say if he was talking about the paper labels. When I get the new one, I will use the advice of a sharpie on all home burned disks. I do it most of the time anyway. And IF I put a labeled CD in there, It will come out before parking anywhere. When I get the CD's back I will post and let you know if it was a buckled label or just a faulty deck!

"Home burned CD's can cause it."If he's talking about anything other than paper labels, he's smoking up.

I agree. I've had home-burned CD's in my 6-disc for months with no problems (no labels on the discs).

I got the new deck, it works fine, but I am still waiting for my CD's to be returned. I am ASSUMING they will do so without any further intervention from me. The service rep said they would send them to me once they were extracted. Time will tell.

Great you got it working again. Looks like it took 3 weeks, hope that was ok. At least it wasn't some critical driveability problem. It will be interesting to hear what the CDs look like when you get them back. Did they replace the deck under warranty?

Did they replace the deck under warranty? It actually only took about 5 days to fix, including the shipping time for the new deck (and bracket, which they forgot the first time.) I only had to leave it overnight once. I have just been a sporadic poster over the summer. The deck was replaced under warranty, overall, it was a positive experience, the dealer took care of it quickly and while it was in I had a service and tire rotation done anyway.
