Amber ABS & red Brake lights, replacing hub speed sensor

I had a very bad rear hub on my 2004 AWD Vibe with ABS, which wobbled and ultimately ruined a very expensive Speed Sensor attached to the hub. When the sensor blew, amber ABS and red Brake lights came lit on my dashboard. I have since replaced the hub and the sensor, however the lights still appear on my dash. Is there any way for me to reset those lights to get them to turn off, or is there anything else that I am forgetting to do?

The instructions conclude with "Perform the DIagnostic System Check - Vehicle."
Looks like you might need to hook up a scan tool to reset the ABS light. Dunno if a regular scan tool can do this or you need one of the expensive ones that does GM ABS systems.

Wow, I'd hate to take it to a dealer. Any other options?

Well you could try driving to Autozone/Advance Auto/Pep Boys/whatever and try using the code readers they lend out for free to clear the codes. Might work. Certainly worth a shot.
You could also try unplugging the battery for a while.

Sometimes non-dealership mechanics have scan tools that can do more than the Autozone scanners.

I took it to an Advance parts store and their code reader only addressed check engine light codes. Maybe I'll take it to an Autozone, or disconnect the battery.

I disconnected the battery for about 5 minutes, but the two lights still appear in the dash.

I missed that the brake light is on too.
Are you low on brake fluid? If not, disconnect the fluid level sensor and see if that changes anything.

No, not low on brake fluid... Well I took it to an AutoZone which had a scan tool that read a fault with the rear driver-side speed sensor (the one I replaced), however the device couldn't reset the fault. The salesman there suggested the battery be disconnected for a longer period. Well over several times I've disconnected the battery, once for over 7 hours, but the ABS & Brake dashboard lights / code didn't reset. Also the radio kept all the presets during this 7 hour period. What else can I do?

On my AWD I used the DLC port under the dash to reset the codes. Take a paper clip and connect pin 4 (on the top) and 13 (on the bottom) just count the pins. Turn the key on, you can count the ABS flashes to give you the codes.
To clear the codes turn the key on and hit the brake pedal 8 times in 5 seconds, the lights will go off. Turn the key off, disconnect the wire and you are done.
