I have been thinking of installing heated mirrors in the Vibe. Apparently this was an option on the Matrix. Does anyone know if the mirrors are interchangeable on our vehicles? I'd rather replace the whole mirror assembly than take it apart and glue on an element.

Amazon does not think it would fit but I suspect that it might.

Yes, the whole door assembly of the 2nd Gen (09-10 Vibes and 09-13 Matrix) are interchangeable within the two cars.

My passenger mirror was broken when I bought the car so I just ordered a used Matrix heated mirror to replace it. I hope to get it on this weekend. I'll keep you guys posted.

Still haven't installed the heated mirror. So does the car give power to the Vibe mirror harness when the defrost is selected?

Getting power to it and making it look nice will be key as its doubtful that wiring exists

From my understanding the wiring is identical so this is a true bolt on...... they are activated when you select defrost mode on dash and automatically turn off in 15 minutes.

^ If that's the case, I will definitely be doing this mod!

Did you do this, Carrie? I would LOVE to put these on my car ... heated rearview mirrors is something I really miss from my VW.

No. I haven't even looked into it all. I wasn't even aware this was an option on the Matrix . I will definitely post any info I can track down on this topic though !

I don't think any of them have done this. I would presume in theory, everything is there to have them work properly since the vehicles are basically identical.

is there an update on this thread? i would love to know if this can be done

I'll have to check the "Helms" manuals to see if the wiring harness/connectors to the mirrors INCLUDES a defrost circuit. I'm guessing NOT!

Now that I think about it, the Vibe would NOT be prewired for heated mirrors. The Matrices were built in Canadia while the Vibe at NUMMI in California. The mirrors should fit, but you'd have to run your own wiring.
