09-10 Vibe Rear Bumper Protector (Bushwacker vs. Toyota OEM)

I went ahead and did my homework, since I wanted a rear bumper protector to cover up my nicks and such on my rear bumper. I decided that I wanted to go with the OEM 09-13 Matrix style protector since it looks the best (Based on pictures I found online). With further investigation I found out that the Bushwacker part and the OEM Toyota part ARE EXACTLY THE SAME they literally are using the same pictures in both installation guides! So this leads me to believe that Bushwacker is the OEM supplier of this particular part to Toyota, I ended up getting the Toyota part because it was cheaper than the Bushwacker part.

Bushwacker Part Number: 34011 (http://www.carid.com/images/bushwacker/ ... ctions.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)
OEM Toyota Part Number: 00016-12828 (http://www.trdsparks.com/install/00016-12828inst.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)

Hope this helps!

Another alternative for a rear bumper protector is clear protection film. It is the same film used on front ends and around the rocker panels to prevent rock chips in the paint surface. I put this on the back bumper area and it did cover up the light to medium scratches on the surface. If the scratch is deep and goes through the paint then the clear film will not cover that up but it did cover up scuff's and made the whole surface even in shine.

I found it at http://www.autopaintguard.com/ were the film wraps up the inside corners and extends down the back by about an inch besides just the top surface. The part number was P1014I for the '09 Vibe and cost $27.97 + $5 to ship. They send instructions to install it. If you can put window tint in your car, you then have some experience for installing this too. At the site click "Search for a Kit" button, put your make of car, and scroll down to the "Luggage Area Kit". It worked well for me and you can not tell anything is on the bumper.
