Yes... but 4 lights in such close proximity not including the offramp lights.... I hope there's not a lot of traffic using that road...

Huge amount - and lots of trucks as there are a some major trucking companies at that interchange.

Recently an interchange around here was done as a Single Point Urban Interchange. It essentially has a single 6-way traffic light in the center on an overpass above the interstate. It's really kind of awesome, and has really streamlined traffic in the area. It sorta looks like it's designed to smash cars into each other but it's been working very well.

They put a *Single Point Urban Interchange* here in southern Washington a few years ago. I've only used it a few times, but it seems very efficient.

That's a single point interchange, like the one above. The distinguishing feature of the diverging one is that the lanes cross to opposite sides for a time. Looks neat.

OH! You're right. Fixed the post. I'll have to look at the Diverging Interstate Interchange diagram again.
Edit: I see now you never have to wait for a light before getting directly on to the freeway. Really cool design.
Here's the video.

A new Diverging Diamond Interchange is nearing completion here in town and is open to traffic now. Went and drove through it this last weekend, and have to say I'm really impressed. This interchange in on I-25 and a mile south of I-80, with three large truck stops on both sides of the highway, so it can be extremely busy at times. Getting through there with all the trucks trying to turn left on and off the highway made it a pretty miserable place to be in a little Vibe. Now everything just flows smooth. Great job WyDot!
