I'm about to buy a Vide

Well i'm about to buy a brand new Vibe. I have a few questions. Are the alloy wheels worth the $400? How about the monochrome paint (I'm either going black or dark blue, not sure at this point. now the silver is even tempting, heh. I will have to run around dealers today to look). Also, I'd like to customize the inside a little bit, get a new shifter knob (is it easy to replace) and some new pedals (again, are they easy to replace). What does everyone think?

If not, I would get the alloy wheels. If so, just get the base wheels with wheel covers as that will save you some $$ when you go with aftermarket.quote: How about the monochrome paint (I'm either going black or dark blue, not sure at this point. now the silver is even tempting, heh. http://nicksimkins.com/vibe. I bought the monotone option, and I am glad I did. It all depends on your personal opinion on what looks better. Here is a big thread on the debate of Monotone vs. Two-Tone:

MONOTONE VS. CLADDING - alot of it depends on what kinda of look you are going for. If you get the monotone appearence on your vibe, it has a much nore sporty and car-like look, whereas if you get the grey cladding, it has a more SUV, Aztekish look. I got the AWD monotone ABYSS (black) vibe and it really does look good. it is very agressive looking and sporty. It just depends on what your looking for in the Vibe.

In general it's cheaper to purchase options whenyou purchase the car. A really nice set of rims & tires will run you minimum $1500 (cdn). I purchased the alloys just because it's so economical... however, 90% of all other vibes will have them too... oh well Monotone? Taste. I got an abyss with the cladding (mono is simply painted cladding) because I couldn't face an extra $600 for mono ?!?! Yup I'm cheap

quote:Are the alloy wheels worth the $400?I ordered mine with the stock steel wheels and bought a set of aluminum wheels which was roughly $400, and used the original tires. It makes it look a little different than everyone else's, and I've got the original wheels & wheel covers up in my pole barn for when I sell it.Pics of my Shadow 2 tone Vibe with these wheels are on this link:
