Ok so I bought a used hitch and roof bars from a yard in Wisconsin

The hitch was $55 shipped and is solid but has surface rust and was badly painted and had some loose chips. So I sanded the guy down and painted it. Oh on a side note I guess the previous owner installed a GT hitch on his non GT Vibe. The hitch will probably hang a bit low but I will live

The roof bars were $35 shipped FOR A REASON. I was once red, once black and now I repainted it black. In addition the front bars have holes in it and the plastic side clips do not hold it on. Since I will not keep them on all the time I will simply screw them on when I need to go on a trip or when I want to take the Kayak to the park

Good deal on the hitch. I just spent about $100 on a Curt class II hitch from Amazon, which included the ball mount. I like the design of the Curt because the actual receiver tube is mounted below the cross bar so the cross bar is hidden behind the bumper.

Looks cool with the black rack , but love to see a pick on how the original look in black...
I was thinking to paint mine black too...

He does not have the rack on the car yet, but he has used the hitch when his car was thrown into a snowbank.
