I would like to install an aftermarket alarm in my 09 Vibe GT. The car currently has the factory alarm (or content theft deterrent as the manual calls it) but it has a mind of its own. There are times when the alarm will go off a bunch of times in one day and be fine for days, weeks, or months before having another fit. Sometimes it goes off as soon as we lock it, sometimes hours later. It is totally random. Locking the car using the lock button on the door, manually locking it, or locking it with the key all arm the alarm, giving us the same problem. It is to the point where we just don't leave anything in it and just leave it unlocked to prevent the horn from going off. I figure I can install an aftermarket alarm with some upgraded features like remote start and take care of this problem at the same time.

Does anybody have a wiring diagram available or have in depth knowledge on how the factory system works? Is there a security module (or fuse, harness, etc) I can unplug for now to disable the system and retain the remote keyless use? Any help is appreciated!
