Help me before I break something! 2009 Fuel Pump

So long story short, I have an 09 Vibe with the 2zz fe 1.8l engine. The original engine threw a timing chain at 137k miles, so I installed a junkyard engine with 51k. It's been running perfectly until today. My wife went out to head to work this morning and it cranks but no start. No codes and no hum from the fuel pump. I checked the voltage to the pump and it's good, so I guess it's time to replace it. The question is:

How do I get the ?!?@!#?#@! retaining ring off? It doesn't want to unscrew like a "normal" retaining ring, and there are no bolts. Anyone done this one their vibe or matrix?

Hello, there is a special tool that is required to remove the retaining ring - I've done 1 fuel tank on a 2009 @ work & had to remove the pump - on some you can get away with using a hammer & punch & walk the ring off carefully - The service information says your not supposed to use anything else except the remover tool - you might have to hit up a gm or toyota dealer & see if they might lend it to you - good luck :D
