Just bought my 2003 Vibe several weeks ago. Please clue me in on a "Short Shifter" kit............what does it do and how hard is it to install?

Interested, but have a question - were you able to use your stock shift knob and boot with this, or would I need to go aftermarket for a heavier knob and shorter boot?

SY, I did not like the shape and feel of the. stock shift knob for the car so I have a custom homemade one that I use. The stock boot worked fine and was what was used by me. I did put the stock knob on too test it (manual said it does fit some on here said it doesn't) and it worked BUT I liked my homemade one.

A short shifter shortens up the distance between gears when shifting (something like 35% shorter), making shifts faster and easier. I have the MWR shifter and it works like a bolt action rifle it's so tight. It's pretty easy to install as well, some interior pieces need removed and 4 bolts, that's all.

I'm interested in buying this from you Mr. Clutch, assuming everything works fine of course. The stems not bent or the pins broke or anything right? Also was wondering your feel on the shifter? Did it stiffen it up or leave it loose? Thanks
