Cabin air filter flap(door)

The flap to change the air filter is broken
on a 2003 Vibe GT.. How do I fix and is it necessary to replace?

I made a new flap for my 05 base in 3 seconds! DUCT TAPE! Please don't say anything to my friends at Gen. Vibe.

Mine broke too. The filter has stayed in place without it so I've seen no reason to do anything about it.
