A/C only works when moving

2009 Vibe w/44k mi. The A/C often stops working at idle. Works great while moving at constant speeds. Any ideas?

Sounds like the condenser fan / engine cooling fan is not moving air across the condenser as it should when the car isn't moving. Fan blade slipping on the shaft, damaged fan, etc. Once the car is moving above 20mph?, air will move across the condenser without the help of the fan. A condenser plugged with debris might do the same thing.

Could also be low on refrigerant, meaning a small leak.
