While the world's most popular car will no longer be in production, it will never leave out hearts.

The new one is still being produced though, right?I didn't even know they were still making the old beetles (well until today at least).

Yes, the "New Beetle" is still being produced. They said in the article the workers previously assigned to the old model would be relocated to other projects, including production of the current model.I too did not know the original was still in production!!!

What about Brazil? Last I'd heard both Brazil and Mexico (until now at least) were still producing the original pattern Beetle....Anyone know if Brazil is still making them?

The Brazil line was killed back in the mid or late 90's. Around 1996 I believe.Edit:http://www.lennysvw.com/history.htmToward the bottom of the timeline. 1996.

I didn't know that it was still being produced either. That car is still a classic, even though they were still making it. I'll have to post a pic of my Dad's restored '58 bug. It's awesome! I'm hoping he will give it to me in a few more years.
