Help removing and installing shift & select lever assembly

Hi All,

my shifter cable bushing was rusted to the point where it couldn't be removed by torch or vice grips so I decided to remove the shift & select lever assembly. To do so, I removed the battery and intake system to make some space, the 2 bolts holding the selecting bellcrank assembly (horizontal selector arm), one bolt securing the hydraulic line and the 4 bolts that held the shift & select lever assembly in place. I placed the car in neutral, removed the assembly and went to town on the bushing. Needless to say, I ended up grinding off what was left of the old bushing. The pin was so rusted that the new bushing wouldn't fit so I sanded the pin down and the new bushing fits.

I went to install the shift & select lever assembly but installed it over the hydraulic clutch line. So I removed it and attempted to re-install it with the clutch line on top. It appears that I installed the lever assembly approximately 180 degrees from where it should have been positioned. The bolt containing the lock ball assembly was removed to ease the removal of lever assembly to no avail. Attached is a photo of where it presently stands.

If I can get this thing out, that would be fantastic,
Paul
