From what I have read the 47/47 EPA mileage rating is wishful thinking for the non-plug in C-Max.

Unless you drive it like a Prius, so slow and boring instead of SUPER EXCITING like it was hyped up to be.

An acquaintance of mine bought a new C-Max (non plug-in) about six months ago and was initially very unhappy with the 38mpg city she was getting. Now, with warm weather and the drive train broken-in, She regularly gets 47mpg city. She doesn't leave the city, so she can't judge mpg highway. She is now very happy with her new car!
