2 Kayaks on GM roof rack?

I have been reading that the OEM roof rack can only hold 75 lbs. My kayaks are 44lb each. Would I be better off buying an entire new thule/yakima roof rack than using the GM 12498684 cross bars? What part number would I need if I were to get the aftermarkets? I have been reading conflicting things and would like to hear from someone who has hauled kayaks on the roof. Thanks.
