I own a 2003 Vibe GT that's been leaking oil under engine toward passenger side. Dealership told me it was the valve cover gasket, so I ordered one from autogeek.
Going to do the repair myself with help from a friend. Any pointers on how to do this repair and any idiosyncrasies involved? Much appreciated, Suzanne

Welcome to GenVibe Suzanne

Can't help you much here as I have a LOW mileage 2009 and no repairs should need to be done to it for at least a decade or so

Others here will chime in and offer support. You've made a wise choice in getting the Vibe. Good luck

Post count +1 then, huh?
Its pretty easy to do. Its just a bunch of 10mm (iirc) bolts around the perimeter of the valve cover. You'll also have to undo the 4 coilpacks....its the same 10mm size
I had to take my valve cover off to swap out the exhaust manifold last month....took me about 10min to take it off.

Why?
I did mine without having to remove anything, including the engine cover. Well, ok, I took off the strut tower bar, but, that was because I'm a big dude. LOL

Welcome to GenVibe! I too am not very familiar with the 1st gen (2003-2008) Vibes as I also own a 2009, but I just wanted to say welcome and post some pictures of your Vibe when you get a chance
