Does anyone know what the 4 wires leading to the subwoofer are? I thought the black and yellow were sound from the amp, but there are two other wires on the connector. is this powered or does it require a control signal? I tried splcing a mono amp to the yellow and black wires but am getting nothing out of the subwoofer.

The Sub in the 09's has a dual voice coil, so there should be 4 wires (2per Vcoil) leading to the sub. All 4 are required in order to have the sub produce sound. If you remove the sub from the enclosure, you will see the wires pair up on each side of the speaker.

Thanks for the information. I have a mono channel amp and I have tried wiring parellel:
Amp + to Black and Blue wires; Amp - to Yellow and LGreen wires

And also wiring:
Amp+ to Black sbuwoofer; Yellow subwoofer to blue subwoofer; Amp - to LGreen subwoofer

and I'm not getting anything? Am I missing something in the wiring?

Pretty sure the voice coils have to be wired to separate channels to function properly. I believe what you are currently doing is cancelling out the signal by connecting both sides of the voice coils to a single signal. This is causing the signal to loop back on itself. It would be the equivalent of connecting two speakers in tandem to one signal... won't work. You will need a 2 ohm dual channel amp to push the speaker. Alternatively, you could swap out the sub entirely. I used an 8" JL Audio sub in place of the stock speaker with a 400w mono block amp.... sounds sooo much better than stock.
