Vibe water inside door from window causing speaker issues

Recently had issues with radio head unit going into "Protected" mode 1st after a car wash, then after a heavy rain. After checking wiring no issues. Took look inside doors after washing car, found deluge of water inside the door and on the speakers. After drying everything out, confirmed on both front doors window weather molding was the problem. Appears the doors weather stripping moves when the windows are rolled up and down, causing gaps, letting water in. Adjusted the weather stripping. Used silicone and hot glue to both seal and position the weather stripping preventing a future deluge. Also, repositioned the speakers so the terminal hookups were not in the window run off path. Below video shows the issues and pic of quick fix. If this is the case for all Vibes, you will not have to worry about rust on outside of the door, but from trapped winter salt rusting the door inside out. I can only imagine in the summer how the evaporating water could cause havoc with electric window motors and power locks, not to mention winter freeze/thaw where ice builds up in the doors electrical components.

I've never had my Vibe doors opened up yet (soon though) and on SOME cars/trucks the manufacturer placed weather shields over the top 40-50% of the speaker so that any moisture/rain if present, would hit the shield and divert around the speaker saving it from any potential damage.

One should mention that there are drain holes in the bottom of the doors. It is worthwhile to check if they are open.

I will tear into the doors pretty soon to add sound deadener. Thanks for the pix.
