I've seen a few SOMEWHAT similar issue in other threads, but all refer to either models with electric windows or a noise that occurs when rolling the window(s) down.

I have a 2003 Vibe with manual hand crank windows. When the windows are all the way up, there is a rattle after going over bumps. If I roll the window down and then back up, it fixes it, but only for a few miles, and so on.

Any ideas?

I suspect that some part interacting with the actual pane is loose. My '06 has this same issue. Although mine has power windows, I think that they may share hardware in supporting and lining the window up.

Interesting. I took the door panel off today only to find an additional metal panel between me and the glass. I more or less gave up at that point and put the door panel back on in hopes I could find some direction from someone who had a similar problem. It doesn't seem dangerous or like its affecting any integrity of the window... Just annoying as hell.
