Magnaflow catback?

I'm curious. I just purchased a Magnaflow cat back 15759 and from the pictures online, it's showing a flange type connection after the muffler by the rear axle, like the factory and my old Thermal R&D it's replacing. The one I got today has a strange looking clamp instead of the flange. Is this correct? Did they change it or something?

Heres some pictures. I just want to know if this is a real magnaflow! It says Magnaflow on the tip and the muffler like the ones i've seen. Just there is no nice flange.
Heres the flangeless connection...

And heres the weird clamp for that connection....

Also, should I have the exhaust welded on or just use the clamps?

Having it welded on would be better.

I heard that welding it on breaks the warranty, though. True?

No idea on the warranty... but I've never been a fan of clamps on exhaust components. They rust/break/slip too easily.

Yeah, I'm getting it welded. It should last the rest of the cars life.
Also, it's the real deal. I emailed Magnaflow and they said thats the new design. They did away with the flanges.
