I am trying to get an idea of who will be coming to the meet in Oshawa. Please only vote once. It will be held August 23rd, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. in the parking lot at GM's Canadian Regional Engineering Centre. Please only vote once per Vibe/Matrix that you are bringing.

Err... So on the poll, does the choice "bringing a Vibe" mean another Vibe besides the one you are in will accompany you? Otherwise it sounds like the same thing as "coming with my Vibe".or does the word "planning" mean "Maybe I'll come"?

I only had 2 choices up when I originally made up this poll. 1) I am coming and bringing a Vibe (meaning your own Vibe)2) I am coming and bringing a Matrix (meaning your own Matrix)then someone added the third choice:3)"I am PLANNING to come with my Vibe"I assume whoever added this third choice meant that they are not 100% sure that they will show up. It doesn't matter which one you pick. Just vote only once per vehicle. The total number of votes should reflect the total number of vehicles that will be coming.

Now I understand!Amazing how hard it is to make such simple concepts clear! (at least to some of us)

Guess this means I better at least get my cut-out/dual exhaust plumbed by then...

Hey guys!Wondering if a Quebec Vibe can join your gang in Oshawa? It is only an hour and half away from my place! I would love to see all the cool things people have done on the Vibes I am also trying to get a Montreal meet going but I guess everyone here is on vacation Thanks!

Oshawa is an hour and a half from Montreal? Its about 4 from Ottawa!Unless you thought they said Ottawa? Because thats about an hour and a half from Montreal...?

Hey gang, we've got TROUBLE!A friend of mine talked to a guy involved in organizing the GM Autofest for Aug 24 and was told that all vehicles were being cleared out of the GM parking lots on the Friday, and that there will be no public access to the CHQ area Saturday the 23rd, as a number of displays would be getting set up. (I think this means that Colonel Sam Drive will be closed off to the public somewhere West of the GM building from early Saturday morning until late Sunday night.)

ZedTim, if you are going to be out in the Mississauga region for the meet on the 13th, we can hook up (you can give me some flyers...now that you know where to get them from), and I will distribute it to every Vibe and Matrix I see on the road.

It will be cleared for us on Saturday August 23rd, 2003 at 1:00 p.m.CREC is located at 500 Wentworth St. in Oshawa Driving directions from 401 Eastbound. * Exit at the Park Rd South Ramp (Exit #416).* Make a left turn at the lights onto Bloor St. * Make a right turn at the second set of lights onto Park Rd. South.* At the fourth set of lights turn left onto Wentworth Street (eastbound) * Go past the first set of lights and then turn left into the parking lot of the Canadian Regional Engineering Centre (just past entrance to Tim Horton's) Driving Directions from 401 Westbound*Exit at the Park Rd. South Ramp (Exit 416)*Make a right turn at the lights*Then make a left turn at the next lights onto Bloor St. *At the next set of lights make a right turn onto Park Rd. Which lot will we use? The visitor parking and semi-circular drive out front would hold around 25 cars, and provide a nice background for pix, plus maybe give a little shade and be closer to Timmy's than the side lot.

I will try to make sure that the area in front of the building be cleared for us for pictures.Marketing promised to send me 5 T-shirts to give away at the event. I guess we will have a draw and pick names out of a hat.

Very nice. Any word whether or not GM will send a Supercharged Vibe? I would really like to see the difference in person.

I didn't actually ask for a Supercharged Vibe for this meet. I can check to see if there is one in Oshawa. Otherwise, it may be difficult to get one brought up from the States due to cost and timing. There may also be problems getting it across the border. I will check just to be sure.

Well, whether or not it shows (to be honest, I wanted it there so that the people in Michigan can stop bragging about it (kidding), but honestly, I would like to see GM come with something to show the people who will be attending - taking into consideration that we are using their lot.

Can't be there on the 13th in Miss. but as for the 23rd I will be there and right now I have Bissel Pont. working on the supercharged vibe. not sure if they can get it there yet it is in TO at a dealership downtown somewhere. they are also willing to donate some things to get the party started. as for the flyers guys your going to have to help me out here, my color is out of ink and the laser printer just went for a vacation today. I'm pretty well useless for that now....

Will see what I can do....finances are tight, but will try something.

I actually made a few B&W copies at work. BTW, after looking at it a few times, genvibe.com and/or matrixvibe.net should've been added to the flyer just so people know that it doesn't end at the meet on Aug.23 but continues on at the websites...

I got an answer today. There aren't any Supercharged Vibes among the fleet vehicles in Oshawa yet. The ones that are in Michigan are likely to be validation vehicles and can't be brought up here easily; for one, crossing the border would be an issue. The trouble is that product development and manufacturing for the Vibe is not really done here in Canada. However, all is not lost. There may very well be supercharged Vibes at a dealership somewhere, but it would likely have been fitted with an aftermarket non-GM supercharger. Any word yet on that Vibe at a downtown dealership, Tim?

I did get word on it, it was an original GM Supercharged Vibe and it was at ROY FOSS but it has returned to the states where they had gotten it from.. so now there isn't any in Canada at this time. Has anyone tried getting any support from Toyota yet?

I finally took pictures of the shirts. I have 3 of the V necks (all XL) and 2 of the zippered ones (both L). I figured we could put names in a hat and have a draw.

Large? Why is everything free in large...what about people like me, who wear XL?
