Hey everyone!

My name is Slade and I recently became an owner of a 2010 Vibe Base model last week to go along with the birth of my daughter. It's my new grocery-getter but it's one of the greatest cruise cars I've owned with lots of plans down the road.

Before my Vibe, I've owned a A 2000 Civic, 2003 WRX, 1998 E36 Coupe, and 1978 Corolla Wagon:

Definitely have a lot of DIY time in the garage, and will hopefully try to contribute to the Vibe community.

Here's the ride (with shaved emblems):

Future Plans:

TRD Lowering Springs - Just Purchased
TRD Front Strut Brace
TRD Rear Sway Bar
LED Interior Upgrade - 80% done
LED License Plate Light - Just Purchased
Black Chrome Mesh Grille Replacement
New Wheels (Still Researching)
Stealth Corner Lights - Done
WeatherTech Window Deflectors - Done
Clean It....

It's a new beginning! Thanks for listening.

*Edit* Found an old picture of my bimmer. It's been killing me that I couldn't find a picture of it until now. Just had to share! Thanks

Welcome to the group Slade!
That's a very clean looking stable you got there. I always loved the simple little wagons from toyota and Datsun!
I'm looking forward to your projects on the Vibe.

Welcome! I have to say that '78 wagon is awesome! Great shape. How long ago did you have that? The Vibe is of course purdy too. Looks like she's in good hands. :D

Welcome to GenVibe Slade :D For it being a base model, I'd say you have the bigger 2.4l engine AND the rare chrome 17" rims that were suppose to come ONLY on the AWD models. Looks good & nice tint also. Great job posting pics & location on your first post ;)

Welcome to GenVibe Slade! As tpollauf said, props on posting pictures and your location in your first post ;)! That's a very sharp Liquid Platinum Metallic (the best color :D!) 2.4L Base you've got there ! I can't wait to see more pictures of your Vibe as you continue through your list of mods.

*EDIT: In case you're not aware, I would strongly recommend putting some better quality double sided adhesive on those WeatherTech rear window deflectors. Mine fell out within a couple days of installation, so I bought a 3 foot roll of 3M Super Strength Molding Tape (#03609) in the automotive section of Walmart for just under $5.00. 1 3 foot roll was just enough for both rear deflectors. I did this in August of last year and the rear deflectors have not budged ever since.*

Been a huuuuuge fan of the older-gen Toyota's/Datsun's after my Dad introduced me to the car scene when I was a wee-lad. I thank him for that.

Thanks! I only owned it for a couple of years before I sold it in 2010 for my 1998 BMW E36 (Holy cow, I forgot to add that to my previous collection) Needless to say it was a terrible decision. Regret it to this day.

I had no idea I stumbled upon something rare! Did some research and they are the AWD wheels; May as well keep them now ;) It is a 2.4l and the tint was recently done a week ago. Thanks for the brownie points.

I've always stuck to silver colors after living in FL for so long. You don't need to clean it as often to make it look good 8-) Luckily I have some 3M Heavy Duty Molding Tape from previous projects, so needless to say, if it falls off, I got a fix. Thanks for the heads up.

Thank you, thank you! I started off with the debadge since I had no money to do anything else at the time lol. Amazing how something that small can make a difference. Was checking out your Vibe before I registered as a member and I was like, "Welp, time to spend some money to do the same thing these guys are doing." hahaha, I love it! And to comment on the clean cars, THIS is my go-to product after all of these years. Works like a charm, and makes waxing easy! ;)

That's the same exact reason I love silver so much! Even when it's dirty, it still doesn't look too bad, but man does it look amazing when it's all nice and clean !

Glad to give you a heads up about the window deflectors. I debated about whether to get them or not because I read a lot of comments online from all sorts of different vehicle owners about the rear ones falling out. I finally decided to go ahead and get them. Once I got the rears firmly attached with the 3M, I was really glad I got them and haven't had an issue since, even in the cold winter weather here in Chicagoland.
