I don't know of anyone on here that is currently selling any used service manuals. In addition to eBay, you can also buy them straight from the company that makes them. As you said though, they are pretty pricey at $200.00 for the set of three.

This is what you want. Visit helminc.com and be prepared to pay $150.00 US dolalrs :o At least that is what they cost me roughly
two years ago. A bit disappointed in the manuals as there are a lot of errors, mainly referring to 2008 Vibes and not the redesigned 2009's
that we have :x . Still they do come in handy!

WOW :o I verified from my old invoice back in May 2011 that I only paid $150 US dolalrs for this set. Now it is up to $200  W T F  I bet they still didn't make addendum's or corrections to the books either. They probably won't sell many at those prices.

I've recently purchased a 2009 Vibe GT myself, and have been looking for the repair manual. I've seen a few of the $200 sets out on Ebay, and a few of the "download" free (just do a free CC check... yeah not gonna happen). Then I happened upon the Hanyes repair manual for about $30 http://www.haynes.com/products/productID/554.

Does anyone have this, is this the right thing to get?

Well, this manual will be a start BUT it will not come close to the original three book volume which pretty much covers everything. Plus it covers ALL models so there may not be enough specific info to your exact model. I guess you can't go wrong for the price

I'm willing to bet that the Hayne's manual caters much more to the 2003-2008 Vibe / Matrix than the 2009-2010 Vibe / Matrix. And since the 2009-2010 Vibe / Matrix don't really have anything in common with their older counterparts, I am guessing the Hayne's manual would be pretty useless for us 2009-2010 owners.

AllData, at $27/year or $45/5 years, is a great deal.

AllData is basically a scanned, indexed, searchable version of the actual GM manual.

With the hard copy being so expensive I always thought a shared copy that could be mailed around as people needed them was a great idea.

I used to be a member of a different forum that did something like this. Everyone became good friends and they started talking about different books and started mailing one around to each other, as one gets done with it, that person sends it to the next one in line.

That's a great idea that I think would work very well on GenVibe. Unfortunately, it would be hard because you would have to wait to receive the service manual, book, etc. Typically if someone is having an issue with their Vibe, they're going to need the service manual, book, etc. right away.
